More than a video feed
Roblox Moments was introduced as a short-form gameplay discovery system, but the creator-facing APIs are the more interesting part. Roblox described capture, upload, and recommendation capabilities that can let an experience recognize a meaningful moment, help the player save it, and surface community highlights inside the game.

Designing for moments
Most games already produce events worth sharing: a close finish, an unusual build, a rare item, a difficult trick, a funny physics failure, or a coordinated team play. The mistake would be adding a capture prompt after every minor reward. Shareable moments need contrast and context. A viewer should understand why the clip matters within a few seconds.

Creators can prepare by defining moment candidates in their event architecture. A race knows the winning margin. A survival game knows how little health remained. A building game knows when a player publishes a creation. Those signals can later drive a capture prompt, replay marker, or community showcase without requiring the client to guess what was important.

Discovery implications
If clips become a meaningful discovery surface, onboarding matters twice. The game must be understandable to the player and legible to someone seeing a short clip without context. Clear objectives, recognizable stakes, and strong visual feedback will travel better than cluttered interfaces.

Discussion
What event in your game would create the most convincing ten-second clip for a player who has never seen it before?
